ST. GALLEN, 13th November. - Today, at the 2nd session of the SGMUN Conference, member and non-member states of the Security Council thoroughly discussed the future reform of the UNSC and its consequences. Thereby, already after an hour of motions and speeches, two main blocks of countries could be identified: The ''pro G4 members'' block, led by Russia and the USA, as well as the group speaking for an increased diversity in the Security Council, initiated by the italian delegate. The first group of nations see Germany, Brazil and Japan as future permanent members of the Security Council for the reason that ''they have proven their contribution to the world's security'', so the delegate of the United States. South Africa and Egypt have been considered as possible members representing the African perspective. Further sessions will show whether the built alliances split further on or grow together and manage to negotiate on the essential reform points.
