Meet the Team

Secretary-General

iSMEA guidotti

The Secretary-General is the founding father of the conference. Through them, the essence and values of the Secretariat and of the conference live. With in mind the collaboration with a dynamic team and the creation of an event rich in academic quality and warm memories, the Secretary-General, as a true ambassador of the SGMUN cause, will welcome you with open arms in December and promote the true St. Gallen spirit..

Ciao fiorellini🌻

I’m Ismea, I come from the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, I’m in my 6th semester of International Affairs, and I’m the Secretary-General of SGMUN 2022. My passions include pretty much any type of dancing, watching movies, skiing, and hiking. Talking about MUN, my favorite committee so far must’ve been the Estates-General in an SGMUN fun debate (Marie Antoinette sided with the tiers état and we killed Louis XVI, pretty epic).

I’m really looking forward to working together with this year’s Secretariat and can’t wait to welcome you all in St. Gallen!

Deputy Secretary-General

RAFFAEL HüBERLI

As the right-hand man of the Secretary-General, the Deputy Secretary-General is the ideal companion, advisor and partner in crime to the SG. When the need for coordination between the different USGs inevitably arises, the DSG provides essential help in maneuvering the SGMUN ship. A match made in heaven, some may even say.

Hey y’all

I’m Raffael and I come from a small town about half an hour away from St.Gallen. I am currently in my 4th semester of International Affairs, and I am the Deputy Secretary-General of SGMUN 2022. When I am not missing half of a lecture because I chat with my friends or organizing SGMUN 2022, you’ll find me either on the slopes or on the football field. Furthermore, I have a keen interest in anything history related, so I am always listening for the best trivia facts out there.

I am excited to work with our amazing Under Secretary Generals on putting together and then welcoming you to a great SGMUN 2022.

Under-Secretary-General of Finance & Treasury

Bénédict Tanner

The USG of Finance & Treasury knows the financial resources of the conference like his own pocket. Other members of the Secretariat come to him first when it comes to making financial decisions, as although money does not buy you happiness, it can definitely facilitate the organization of a very promising conference. With the help of spreadsheets, formulas, financial planning and bookkeeping prowesses, the USG of Finance & Treasury ensures that our participants will get more bang for their buck.

Ahoy-hoy fellow MUNers
My name is Bénédict and I am currently in my sixth semester of my economics studies here in St. Gallen. I will be your USG of Finance and Treasury which means that I have to do my job without losing my balance by processing the debit while everyone else takes the credit.
When I'm not crunching numbers I am often seen taking apart any electronic device I can get my hands on or discussing politics with my peers.

I hope to be able to welcome you in my hometown of St. Gallen in December

Under-secretary-General of Marketing & Public Relations

KATARINA HELLRIEGEL

The USG of Marketing & Public Relations is responsible for the outside image of the conference. The tasks include a regular activity on social media, as well as the design of our website and other marketing goods such as flyers, business cards, and, most notably, the goodie bags. It is the USG’s task to bring the idea of the whole secretariat to the national and international students via the various channels. With a knack for visual design, the USG of Marketing & Public Relations will give the conference its vibrant colors and its pleasing and memorable presentation, all while ensuring the best photography, cinematography and communication of the event that is the SGMUN conference.

Howdy folks!

My name is Kata, I am in the 4th Semester of International Affairs, and I am the Undersecretary General of Marketing and PR. This includes running this Instagram page, so if you have any questions about the SGMUN Conference, you'll probably find me answering your messages. In my freetime I'm also involved in the student paper, and if I ever find time, I like to draw comics or write stories. You might find some of that on my personal instagram: @eldritch.mushroom.

I'm really looking forward to meet everyone! I promise applications open soon :D Stay tuned!

Under-Secretary-General Of Logistics & VOLUNTEERS

DOMINIK HACKER

The USG of Logistics & Volunteering is responsible for the "day-part" of the conference, including organising the locations and catering, as well as planning and organising the daily routine of the conference, including the management of volunteers. Interested in the "organisational" aspect of a conference focussing on detailed and precise planning, the USG of Logistics & Volunteering facilitates the smooth unfolding of the daily business. Juggling between the perfect rooms and the budget restrictions, deal with the challenges involved of drawing up a plan for the fluid running of the conference, as well as overcoming problems on the spot during the course of the conference is the USG’s main focus.

Hello hello :)

My name is Dominik, and I grew up in a village close to Zurich. I am almost finished with my studies in International Affairs and am currently working in public affairs. As the USG of Logistics and Volunteers I’m excited to be part of this year’s SGMUN Secretariat.
Even though I’m kind of a newbie to MUN I’ve already come to greatly appreciate the people I’ve met and the discussions I’ve had. In my free time I like to play soccer and handball. Additionally, I love to cook and eat food from all over the world.

Under-secretary-General of Socials & venues

SOPHIE EYHOLZER

There is not a single MUN party where the USG of Socials & Venues only takes half-measures: it is either going big or going home. While other USGs are responsible for the day-to-day activities of the conference, the USG of Socials & Venues, like a true party animal, will ensure that the night-to-night organization is on point and meeting your deepest social desires. From exciting music to diverse locations and lasting memories, the USG of Socials & Venues will make sure you truly have, the time of your lives.

Eh ciao, my name is Sophie Eyholzer. I am in the 2nd Semester of the assessment year and starting my BBWL major in September.
I am Undersecretary of Socials and Venues in this year's SGMUN Conference, which means I have the pleasure to organize memorable gatherings and parties during the Conference.
But who can party hard, can also work hard: That’s the reason why you mostly meet me at the gym besides my lectures at uni.

See you guys soon!

Under-secretary-general of Chairs & Academics

HUGO KLEINJAN

The USG of Chairs & Academics has as his biggest priority the academic renoun and excellence of the conference. Piecing together amazing teams of dedicated and capable chairs , he is the mind behind the committees, their topics, their debates and their rules. Coordinating with the USG of Delegates & Organization, he also plans, organizes, debates, interviews, convinces, teaches, learns, and listens, all in one neat package. As the middle man between the Secretariat and the committee chairs, the USG of Chairs & Academics will ensure the cultivation of most fruitful relationships and academic exchanges with some of the MUN community’s most enthusiastic debaters and moderators. Through his work, the conference shall bring its participants as close as possible to the essence of MUN: a model.

Hi there ^_^

Having lived in seven EU countries, I consider myself European at heart, even if I hold a Dutch passport. I am now doing my second Master’s in Switzerland, country #8, where I am the USG of Chairs and Academics of the SGMUN Secretariat. I am a MUN veteran as I have done MUN for more than 10 years (makes me feel old too)! Outside of my MUN life, I enjoy painting, skiing, hiking, and, for a lack of better description, have an unhealthy obsession with the Lord of the Rings/J.R.R. Tolkien.

Under-secretary-general of Delegates & Organization

dominique thalmann

For the USG of Delegates & Organization, setting up the committees, processing the delegate applications and making the committee allocations for each delegate makes up most of the work . The most direct and open contact person for any enquiries from delegates, the USG of Delegates & Organization will shine through continuous and open communication. The USG of Delegates & Organization also forms the Academics Team with its fellow USG of Chairs & Academics, with whom it regularly convenes to guarantee the highest standards of academic organization, such as the entire application process.

Hey there :)

I’m Dominique and I come from a small village close to Frauenfeld. I’m currently studying international affairs in my 6th semester, and I’m the Undersecretary General of Delegates and Organization of SGMUN 2022. Although I have only discovered MUN about a year ago, I have really enjoyed it and I’m very excited to be part of this year’s Secretariat. Besides that, I dance Rock ‘n’ Roll Acrobatics pretty much since I can remember. I also love cooking with friends and being outside to go on a hike or hit the slopes. When you come to St. Gallen you can expect a very charming old town and a lot of beautiful places to visit within walking distance.

I’m very excited to work together in our wonderful Secretariat and can’t wait to meet you all in St. Gallen!

Take care 🌸

Under-secretary-general of sponsoring & fundraising

BENJAMIN FABBRO

The USG of Sponsoring & Fundraising is in charge of finding the necessary funds to make sure that participants can enjoy our conference at an affordable price. Their tasks include finding financial sponsors, so that we can offer an amazing all-inclusive conference, and in-kind sponsors, so that we can lighten up the delegates’ days with snacks, beverages, and small presents.

Hello there

My name is Beni, I come from Bern. Currently I'm still in the assessment year (hopefully not for long anymore) and I'm planning on starting my economics major next semester. In this years SGMUN Conference I'm going to be responsible for the sponsoring. Next to that I'm also working at the student paper and playing for the universities flag football team.
Anyways, I won't make this much longer or you'll end up like me in the second pic.

Can't wait to meet you!

Acting Under-Secretary-General of Chairs & Academics

Egan Paquay

Jolly good day to you all,
My name is Egan, I am a 22 year old Belgian Luxembourger and I am finishing up my bachelor in business administration at the University of St. Gallen. I will be assisting the Secretariat and act as a deputy for my good friend Hugo in the position of Chairs & Academics during the conference.
In my free time, you will find me learning about the latest internet trends, rehearsing a foreign language or my bass guitar, reading about politics, discovering Taylor Swift's new release or debating which fried chicken sandwich has the tastiest sauce. If you are interested in any of the above, slide into my DMs.
I am good fun (usually) and I cannot wait to talk to you soon in our lovely Sanggallä for a very special edition of our beloved project.
