WHO working on a Global Security Strategy
ST.GALLEN (Reuters) - The WHO has been debating on a Global Security Strategy to prevent Bio-Weapon attacks. Iran has proposed the introduction of a supervising body within the WHO to condemn the use of bioweapons and such attacks. The delegates of China, Sweden, Russia, and the US have all stated their support for this approach of a supervising body within the WHO. The delegation of France has acknowledged the importance of introducing a supervising body however, it has also stated the issue that some states are currently still in possession of biological weapons. In particular, it has confronted the US on its “passion“ for biological weapons.
