FoxNews - Pakistan insults 285 million Americans!!!
[An opinion piece on the UNSC’s Session 2]
The lack of respect and care of countries towards the United States continues to be on full display in the United Nations Security Council.
If this morning the negotiations seemed to be navigating without any clear goal, they have now taken a new turn. It was difficult to think that those negotiations would stall to an even worse stage, but somehow, they did. The delegation of Pakistan, which was too busy to attend the meeting this morning, finally arrived. In a touching moment, the delegation paid its respects to the three thousand victims of the September 11th attacks. However, the ruse was short-lived, as the delegation of Pakistan then proposed high and loud to invite Taliban representatives to the meeting to discuss.
This was the final string in a long line of insults towards the United States. The Taliban helped Al-Qaida and are a threat to the world, yet many delegations still believe they should be rewarded with humanitarian help and financial support. The situation is mind-boggling, as Sean Hannity said in his show, commenting on Pakistan’s proposals, “This is the equivalent of FDR inviting Hirohito to the white house on December 8th, 1941”. The entire Fox News editorial staff remains baffled by the direction of the meeting. When the UK was under attack by the IRA, they did not invite them; they fought them until they were reduced to rubble. Such declarations feel like a slap in the face of all Americans.
Thankfully the United States delegate gave no credit to such rumours and hammered Pakistan with a substantial reality check. Indeed, Fox News is proud to report that the White House gave an ultimatum of 7 days to the Taliban to comply with requirements. Such a move was praised by other P5 members and probably by million of individuals throughout the world, including Afghanis, whose day of liberation gets closer thanks to the leadership of President Bush. Pakistan then attempted to divide the P5 by insulting the memories of Soviet troops deceased in Afghanistan during the 1980s, but that move was not enough to break the consensus and alliance that has emerged between the P5 members.
Thankfully history will not remember such petty insults against America, especially coming from Pakistan. A state that developed nuclear weapons in spite of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), something no American ally would ever do. History will remember the brave men who unequivocally advocated for a massive bombing campaign and ground troop deployment in Afghanistan.
