Op-ed: Soviets Have Always Been Insane, Now They Stopped Hiding It

It does not take an expert to see that communist regimes act as a result of ideology and madness instead of sound reasoning and caution. In the past, not all but a lot of communist regimes at least tried to hide this by presenting themselves as acting „in the interest of the people“ or with „long-term results in mind.“ The recent press statement from the Soviet dictatorship shows that they at least do not even try to hide their insanity anymore. Threatening to drop nukes on NATO territory because NATO sent a few condoms to a city in another country might be the maddest thing the Soviets ever came up with. They are, of course, fully aware that the West’s nuclear capabilities are far superior to theirs, and they know that nuking NATO will result in NATO completely obliterating the Soviet Union. The only explanation for this threat is that the Communists are finally noticing their own decline. Threatening to start a new world war is nothing more than a desperate cry for attention from a dying regime.
