The G20 committee is ready to go!
The G20 committee has started the debate on the Restoration of International Supply Chains to Guarantee Food Security with its first session focusing on introducing the delegates’ opinions via the General Speakers List and moderated caucuses. They gathered in order to find a solution to the topic, but they still nevertheless have a long way to go.
During the debate, the delegates suggested further moderated caucuses regarding long-term vs short-term solutions and defining the problems that need to be solved. Furthermore, the committee touched on the controversy of Russia being in this committee at such a geopolitical precarious time. Finally, different countries grouped together during an unmoderated caucus until the end the session.
However, during the roll call, it seems like a third of the countries defined themselves as present instead of present and voting. How will the committee be able to solve the issues if the countries aren’t committing to the voting procedure?
