Press Statement from the GDR

Guided by our strong, unbreakable Marxist-Leninist values we cannot with the right conscience support or partake in military force of any kind. We are on the frontline of the western, imperialist borders. At our borders the enemy lingers, waiting for any opportunity to tear us apart. Not to forget that we are still recovering from WWII on our grounds. Thus, as the deciding vote on the matter we will break the majority (with Albania, Romania, Czechoslovakia) in the Warsaw Pact, making any military intervention exponentially more difficult.
