alena Heise

Heya, my name is Alena Heise.

I am currently studying political science and economics at the Goethe University in Frankfurt.
My MUN experience started back in 2014 and has accounted for over 12 conferences, numerous chairing experiences as well as being Secretary General. Now after a bit of a break I am glad to be back chairing at the Historical Committee at SGMUN ☺️

I’m looking forward to meeting you all

See you soon, Alena

Celia Burrel

Hello!

I’m Celia and I will be chairing the Historical Council. I will be 21 years old during the conference, studying a double degree of audiovisual and mathematical engineering. Although I love the word of STEM, my true passion is solving social issues though different ways. I also have a background in social entrepreneurship that I intend to merge with my technological and society’s knowledge to bring forward a fairer world. This will be my third time being chair in a real conference. I have always been interested in history that’s why I applied to chair this committee, I believe the topics that we will be discussing, although old, are key to explain our present: the recent rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan and new pandemics.

On a personal level I enjoy stories, though literature, music or movies. I love how there are so many different view points from which we can see the same facts. Stories for women about women made by women have a one of a kind place in my heart. A part from that I enjoy learning about philosophy, fashion, politics, international relations and economics. In my free time I love travelling and meeting new people.

I believe it is quite clear that a MUN is basically all the thing I enjoy combined. This will be my first time in Switzerland also for which I’m super excited. I can wait to meet you all and have a fruitful discussion and learn form the errors of the past. I hope we have an amazing conference together, academically and socially. See you soon!
