Jakob Tjurlik is a 20-year-old student from Estonia who currently is in his second year of the Bachelor of Science in Economics at the University of Mannheim, Germany. He has started his MUN journey five years ago and has been on the train ever since. Despite a great amount of attended conferences, it will be his first SGMUN, and he has a special feeling about this one. Every MUN is one of a kind, he said, so let's see how many laughs, tears and imaginary diplomatic crises will this one bring. Let's roll!
Sebastian Linke is 19 years old and a third-year International Affairs student at the University of St. Gallen. Born and raised in St. Gallen, he considers himself a true native of the city (which might be a topic he brings up randomly at a social). However, at the moment, he is doing an exchange semester at IE University in Madrid. Sebastian discovered his love for MUN in 2018 when he joined SGMUN, the university’s MUN society, and quickly grew so addicted to it that he started chairing the society’s weekly mock debates. His first conference was OxIMUN in 2018. Since then he attended a couple of other conferences as a delegate and chaired at last year’s edition of the SGMUN conference, EuroMUN and TLVMUN. In his spare time, Sebastian enjoys playing table tennis, reading a good book and drinking a beer (or two) with friends. He is very excited to welcome all of you to St. Gallen. Though, he would like to offer one piece of advice for your stay: Never eat the traditional “St. Galler Bratwurst“ with mustard, and stay clear of Manuel, the USG of Chairs & Academics whenever he is holding a gavel in his hands…
Shuting Ling will soon start her final year of her master's degree in Political Science and Gender Studies at the University of Zurich. She has been doing MUN for more than six years and cherishes the people she meets through it, the political education it provides and the discussions that arise outside of committee. While studying seems to be her hobby, she mainly dabbles in (unpaid) event organization, karaoke, attempts to pet every cat she encounters, eating food others make for her and spending money on books and concerts. She is excited to be chairing ECOFIN at SGMUN 2019 and hopes to infect everyone at the conference, but especially at this committee, with her passion for Political Economy.
